Alexander Ikonnikov

Alexander Ikonnikov, Head of Board practice at Board Solutions, is a leading Russian expert in corporate governance, Board of directors and shareholder activism.

He instituted the Independent Directors Association (IDA) in Russia. As Chairman of the IDA Supervisory Board he is an active participant and guides the transition programs of Russian companies to international standards of corporate governance. At different periods in his managerial career he has led the Department of External Economic Affairs and Investments at the Ministry of Fuel and Energy and run Russian Investor Protection Association as the CEO.

He has experience serving Boards of directors as Independent director in telecommunication and consumer companies, investment funds and post-trading financial organizations.

Alexander graduated from the Russian Oil and Gas Institute with an engineering degree. He also earned his PhD in economics.

He is Certified and Diploma Director by IoD, the UK.

Yale School of Management recognizes Alexander Ikonnikov as “2010 Rising Star of Corporate Governance” for outstanding work in, and contribution to, the field of Corporate Governance.
