Chief Executive Officer for a bank of a diversified automotive company

For several years our client had been debating the idea of creating a bank which would provide car loans and dealer financing. To conclude the debate the company retained a major management consulting firm to carefully investigate this potential business venture and to design an initial strategy for the start-up of a retail bank.

The proposed strategy recognized that the booming car sector in Russia combined with the company’s position in the automotive segment offered the client a unique opportunity for a financial services business in this segment.

Board Solutions was eventually entrusted with the search of the CEO of that new venture.

As a company with high international standards and a strong corporate culture, our client expected to recruit a top notch professional with Western experience from the retail banking industry.

The search focused on 2 target groups - Financial Services units of major automobile producers, and Retail banks & Consumer Finance companies primarily in the UK, Russia, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, and Austria.

After reviewing some 100 individual profiles, five finalists were presented within 60 days. Our client’s first choice was offered and accepted the position.
